Should God still Bless America?

God Bless America? Now today is July 5th and I heard for the last few days God Bless America, that has really made me think do we deserve that? I really do think he has in for over 2 centuries, but I don't see why we deserve and more blessing. We have been blessed for over 2 centuries with many blessings for the longest running republic in the history of the world, a prosperous nation, defender of freedom, leader of the free world and many unmentioned blessings. But over the last approx 80 years, I estimate off The New Deal by FDR, as our turning point from a blessed nation to a nation that thinks we are above God. We have murdered millions of His children, made many dependent on the government instead of their own self worth, turned away from His definition of marriage, removed Him from schools, courts, public and our society. A child can't say a private prayer in school anymore, a Bible can't be read on the street of America, a speech can't be given with reference to God in it at a graduation and morally right (Ten Commandments) can't be hung in public, and crosses removed from soldiers graves, war memorials and anywhere an Atheist sees unfit. After all these listed atrocities of Gods commandments do we as a country deserve his blessing? I think we don't until as a country we have a revival of turning back to God in this country. If anyone has read the The Danbury Letters, that were written by the Danbury Baptist to Thomas Jefferson, they would scratch their head on how the Supreme Court of the United States of America got it so wrong. The first thing is why did the SCOTUS make a decision on letters the were written privately from a social group to the president? Why would that letter hold such relevance in a court of Law? Did the Court understand the history of the first Amendment? Who wrote it? And quit frankly who didn't write it? And probably what seems most problematic to me is after reading that letter how did they come to the conclusion they did? Emerson v. Board of Education in 1947 was where the SCOTUS decided the on "separation of church of state" based on the Danbury Letters. It was momentous due to the fact the it was the first time the SCOTUS decided a case of Constitutional implications without using the Constitution of the United States of America. If anyone has read the Danbury letters, please search it to read, they will quickly understand the SCOTUS in fact vastly misunderstood the meaning of those letters, whether deliberately or ineptly, they got it flat wrong. On the case of deciding why that President Thomas Jefferson was so important in that land mark decision is baffling. President Jefferson had many implications on On our founding as a country, from being on the committee of five and the drafter of the Declaration of Independence being the most notable, but he absolutely had no implication on the First Amendment, Mr Jefferson was not even in the United States at the time the First Amendment was written, he was our ambassador to France and was there during the writing and ratification of the Bill of Rights. So to ask God so clearly but cliche to Bless America I am confused on why He would do such a thing? Does nobody read the Old Testament and what He did to His lost but beloved people? The people that ask for Gods Blessing are usually the ones who condemn God every other day of the week.

The intolerance of the people who scream about tolerance is so hypocritical it is astounding. If as Christians we are talking about traditional biblical values, pro-life, against same sex marriage we are called intolerant, uncaring and haters. Anyone with any true biblical knowledge knows that Christianity is about faith, love and hope at the basics. When we speak out against these sins we are not judging but following what scripture says (Romans 1: 24-27) nothing more. We are to hate the sin but love the sinner. I have made friends from many walks of life, we have all sinned, we are all sinners at our core. The difference in Christianity is salvation and learning to get away from sin, not to say we won't make mistakes but we are to help others, this is seen as intolerance. I have become good friends with people of same sex attraction, good people just doesn't mean we have to accept their world view. And those on the left want my tolerance of their life style while they are intolerant of mine. There is no tolerance of sin on judgement day, the only thing that will matter is the acceptance of Jesus as your Lord and Savior no matter the sin you did, cursing, lying, stealing, covetous, adultery or homosexual relations. The left doesn't want to hear it so they call us intolerant of saying what has been written for over 2000years. They want Christians and the world to accept their sin as ok and if we don't they call us intolerant. If we pray quietly in a school, sidewalk, park or any public place they arrest us for doing so. They have shut down valedictorians microphones during speeches for mention God, they have pulled scholarships, suspended children from schools for quiet prayers, arrested pastors for reading the Bible quietly in public. This shows how tolerant of my beliefs they are.

Heading for Failure

My state, California, and our country is drifting on the brink of collapse not only financially but morally. Gov. Arnold told the State Assembly we have 14 days left of money. This is truly embarrassing for a state that is the 5th largest economy in the world. We should have plenty of money, be in the black in our budget. The scary thing is the way California goes, the rest of the country usually follows.

We recently had 5 propositions voted down in our special election. These propositions that wanted to take money from children programs, mental health, fire, police and schools. I can figure out a way to balance this budget in a hurry without cutting these essential programs. Lets stop supporting illegal aliens health care, giving them state benefits even those of us who pay for it can't get. This would save billions of dollars.

Our state wants to cut the essentials like fire, as if we have no major fire in California. Really? This is their best idea? Cut police, when we have large crime problems with the largest population of any state in the union? Cut our education, when the kids are our future that might be smarter than us to get us out of these problems?

It amazing to see the similarities from our state to our country. We can save billions by stopping forgeign aide, support medicare programs fro the people who don't need it. I am all for giving Medicare to the people who paid into it, the retirees, the US citizen who is incapable of working but stop giving it to anyone who crosses our border or able body Americans that instead of buying that new car, TV or computer go and buy health insurance. These could save untold amount of money for the US, bring us back from the brink of collapse.

As Mike Huckabee says "Lets bring common sense back to America" for it has been gone since Reagen left office.

Obesity and Health

The rise of obesity in recent years is very alarming. In my career as a paramedic I see a lot of people's health problems are related to obesity ranging from high blood pressure, diabetes, heart conditions, joint problems.... If people were taught to eat healthy, do some sort of exercise, get away from McDonald's and junk food they would be better off. I think the rise of the convenient fast food has been a problem combined with the perpetual laziness of Americans.

I am thankful my parents kept me busy growing up and them being healthy people showed me how I should live a healthy life. I am also fortunate I never liked candy as much as fruit and vegetables, which I realise is not common. I think if more people where taught healthier habits at a younger age our health as a nation would be better off. People often look for the easy way, parking in the front spot instead of parking further away. One thing that helped my grandpa a lot was when he got a pedometer. He has a goal of steps he wants to achieve everyday. He went from parking in the front to parking in the back and walking around the parking lot of store.

Also I think there is a lot of our beautiful country to see. I do a lot of hiking in my area of San Diego County, with gorgeous views, piece and quiet with just me and my dog. I am usually the only one on many of these trails.

I like Huckabees outlook on how he was transforming the way he operated Arkansas as a governor. Giving people time to workout during work hours, much like smokers are smoking during work hours, giving time off when people reach health goals. If you read his books Do the Right Thing and From Hope to Higher Ground he outlines progress made in these areas that should be looked at by our health care system and government.

On the news yesterday Fox News was talking about a push for a Federal Sales Tax of 25% to support a government run health care program. I pay enough taxes, I don't want to support more programs that are going to cause me worse health care than I already have. Liberals need to look at government run health care around the world and see how much worse it is than what we have now. People not getting procedures done in time that can prevent problems, getting medications that are badly needed.

With inspiration from Huckabee I am looking into starting an after school program for kids to show them a healthier way to live. Taking them on hikes, eating healthy and being active. Push away the Internet, PlayStation and TV and bring in bike riding, sports, hiking. Possibly creating a generation better of than ours.

Hypocrites

Hypocrites seems to be popular these days from baseball players denying use of steroids, denouncing the use then testing positive, Pelosi trying to bring Bush Era staff on charges for torture that she said was unAmerican then documents showing she knew about it 7 years ago. She would have done better by keeping her mouth shut. Let the CIA do their job keeping America safe. They have done a fantastic job with it since 9/11. If it takes a little water boarding on people that have beheaded US citizens, flown planes into our buildings, used RPG's and roadside bombs against our troops, then I am for it. This happened to 2 people Khalid Shik Muhammed (the mastermind of 9-11) and 1 other. These techniques turned up plans of Al Queda to do more damage to US terrritory.

So if Pelosi wants to bring charges on others for approving the water boarding, should she have to prosecute herself?

Left Behind

In today's politics it seems nobody is thinking about the average American. We are called on on election day to get out and vote and put back on the self for the next 2 years until we need you again. As I see it the politicians are playing a power struggle between each other and the US is left behind. Neither side is willing to give up for the sake of the country. I don't care who fixes this problem but I want our country back. This is an unprecedented time when so many people are pissed at our system, the banking system on the brink of collapse a long with the auto industry, gay marriage being approved in 3 states, taxes going up, gun control, increasing debt to China, UAE, and Kuwatis.... What is next?



Is the minority ruling the majority? It is the inner cities urban areas that elected Obama and Liberals to office cause they are asking for help. Most people living in rural counties, suburban areas are left behind with our current system. We need to revamp the way we vote. I live in San Diego where it is a Republican county but cause we are out voted by San Francisco and LA the Liberals take our state every election. I don't want handouts just to be left alone.
When people feel left behind there is an up rise. Remember why the Pilgrims left England to escape the taxes and to have freedom of religion. Is history repeating itself?

Federal government is becoming to involved with peoples rights. Look at the laws being passed in Texas and Montana, saying any gun law passed by the federal government will not apply in our state. I commend these states on taking steps to protect the rights of the citizens and keep the Feds out of state business. Liberals think they can meddle in everything. The Libs want to control health care, business but forgot about our borders and security. They are trying to fix things they shouldn't worry about and not taking care of things they should. I fear what will happen to our country with our borders not protected, the CIA working with hands tied behind their back. I think what they do should be left alone let them protect us from terrorist how they see fit.

Do the Right Thing

I just finished the book "Do the Right Thing Bringing Common Sense Back to America" and I am totally blown away of what great, simple refreshing ideas Gov. Huckabee has. As you think about his ideas they are as the title suggest, COMMON SENSE. When we have legislatures trying to out think each other, playing politics, it leaves us the common people out of the picture. Having a man that came from meager upbringing as most of us have in the US that are not a Kennedy, Bush, Romney, Clinton or Kerry is nice. He understands what it is to struggle, to rob Peter to pay Paul, worried about covering your premiums on medical insurance, paying the bills. The elitist democrats think they know but many of them are born with silver spoons and can only speculate what it is to struggle. they don't know or want to know, they want the vote.

In my job we get the typical call for a "Man Down/Unknown Problem" or "CPR/Cardiac Arrest" which more often than not turns out to be a homeless person trying to sleep or is drunk and sleeping. We the people who call these calls in I term "cell phone hero's" cause they don't ever want to check on the person to see if they are breathing they want someone else to do it., on our computer in the ambulance usually read reporting party refuses to do CPR or doesn't want to get to close. Nothing is typically wrong with the patient besides not having a home so we usually have to wake them up, send them off to sleep out of the public eye. I equate this to our democratic/liberal elitist. They don't want to know if we are breathing down here in the middle/lower class they want us to vote for them. They want to half way care by sending someone else to check on us and that some is more bureaucrats costing us tax money. They don't want us to think, they want to think for us, we are here to merely work and to pay taxes to fun their programs that they deem will help us.

I think it's funny the party that wants to raise taxes has a lot of people that have tax problems. How can we have someone in charge of the IRS who failed to pay taxes? Can Obama appoint or even find a person that doesn't have a tax problem?
